Ryan Kinsley of Mountain Home entered a guilty plea to a charge stemming from a crime committed while in the Baxter County jail and was given five years in prison during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 25-year-old Kinsley was in the local jail waiting transport to the state prison system when he was caught taking and concealing a cellphone at the jail.

The previous charges filed against Kinsley included residential burglary, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, breaking or entering, theft of property and theft by receiving.

Among the items Kinsley was alleged to have stolen in previous criminal cases included an expensive mountain bike and an Arctic Cat UTV.

The new five-year sentence will run concurrent with the 20-year prison sentence handed down in July on the earlier crimes.
