The Baxter County Fair wrapped up its week of activities with what was described as a great turnout. This year’s fair saw the attendance number at 26,545 compared to over 25,000 last year, and the Baxter County Fair Association reports that number is most likely in the top five of the fair’s history. According to the fair association, every night of the fair was up in attendance compared to last year.
In addition, the fair sold more than 10,000 additional carnival tickets than in 2017. Archway Amusements reports it was just shy of the record.
Baxter County Fair Board Secretary Konnie Coleman says the fair week began with some well-attended and well-participated events.

The fair also saw an increase in participation in several booths, exhibits and competitions. Coleman says the upward trend of commericial booths was particulary noticeable.
