BUFFALO, Mo. (AP)   A southwest Missouri school district agreed to pay a $25,000 settlement after a student was punched on a school bus.

The Dallas County school district signed the agreement with Clint and Malina Swanigan, of Buffalo, who claimed their son was injured when he was punched in the arm by another student in March 2017. The boy was 11 at the time.

The Springfield News-Leader reports the settlement agreement does not detail the boy’s injuries.

The agreement says the district denied any wrongdoing in the case.

Dallas County Superintendent Tim Ryan said the district works to safeguard students on school buses. All of the district’s 30 buses have cameras on and every driver must complete an extensive training before transporting students.

Buffalo is about 40 miles north of Springfield.
