Pilots get 2 wins in 3 games at Melbourne

The Mountain Home Pilots youth football program was able to pick up two wins in three games at Melbourne on Saturday.

The Sixth Grade Pilots wrapped up the day with their victory over Melbourne after a slow start. Noah McKay finished with four touchdown runs including two at 60 yards each, and he also led the defense with 14 tackles. Jaxon Due and Cotter Mills also had eight tackles each on the day. Mountain Home improves to 2-1 on the year.

The Fifth Grade Pilots also picked up a win over Melbourne by a score of 19-6. Reif Murray led Mountain Home on both sides of the ball with three rushing touchdowns and 12 tackles. Also for the Pilots’ defense, Taylor Peterson added eight tackles. Mountain Home is now 2-1 on the season.

The day began on a rough note as the Third and Fourth Grade Pilots fell to Melbourne 10-0. Colton Johnson and Naite Shick led the Mountain Home defense with eight tackles each. The Pilots’ record drops to 0-3.

All three Pilot teams will be back at Bomber Stadium next weekend as Thayer comes down from Missouri.
