Lead Hill girls win Class 1A golf title; Izard County’s Kish named medalist

The Lead Hill High School girls’ golf team finished its season by three-peating as state champions. The Lady Tigers won the Class 1A State Tournament Tuesday at Tannenbaum Golf Course near Drasco as they finished with a total of 286. Greers Ferry West Side was a distant second place at 309.

Izard County’s Mikayla Kish was the medalist with an 83, and Madie McPherson of Lead Hill finished three strokes back. In addition, the Lady Tigers’ Kayla Huebner and Betsey Sindland were among a three-way tie for fourth place. All four golfers finished with All-State honors.
