Arrest made in Fulton County in connection to capital murder case

Police have arrested a man in Fulton County in connection with a homicide investigation in Benton County.

According to the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, 53-year-old Don Paul Yates was arrested Friday in connection with capital murder.

According to a release from the Rogers Police Department, an investigation was started after a man’s body was found in a home. Officers found the body Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 after they went to 53 West Alton Circle for a welfare check.

The victim’s name hasn’t been released pending a positive identification from the Arkansas State Crime Lab, but Benton County records show the property is owned by Patrick Quinley.

The police release says Yates and the victim knew each other, and Yates became a suspect early in the investigation.

Police located and arrested Yates in Fulton County on Friday. He will be returned to Rogers where he is to be interviewed and booked into Benton County Jail pending a bond hearing.
