Highway improvements coming to 3 local counties

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved bids for improvements to roadways in Marion, Izard and Boone counties.

In Marion County, the project will resurface approximately one mile of selected sections of County Road 982 and approximately one-third mile of selected sections of County Road 27 near Flippin.

Twin Lakes Quarrys, Inc. of Mountain Home was awarded the contract at $142,057.

In Izard County, one bridge will be replaced with a reinforced concrete box culvert on U.S. Highway 69B.

West Plains Bridge and Grading, LLC was awarded the contract at $370,000.

In Boone County, a traffic signal at the intersection of Main Street and Spruce Street in Harrison will be constructed and installed.

Ewing Construction, LLC of Nixa was awarded the contract at $153,591.

Construction is scheduled to begin on all projects in early October, weather permitting. Completion is expected in late 2018 in Marion and Izard counties and in mid 2019 in Boone County.
