Pilots have mixed results in home outing with Thayer

The Mountain Home Pilots youth football teams had mixed results Saturday after hosting Thayer at Bomber Stadium.

The Sixth Grade Pilots ended up in a 6-6 tie with the Bobcats. Noah McKay scored the lone touchdown for Mountain Home in the first half. The Sixth Grade Pilots are now 2-1-1 on the season.

Mountain Home fared better in the fifth grade game as they shut out Thayer 12-0. Reif Murray scored both of the Pilots’ touchdowns including one from 67 yards out. Noah Ferguson led the Mountain Home defense with nine tackles including three for lost yardage. The Fifth Grade Pilots improve to 3-1 on the year.

The day began on a rough note as Mountain Home fell to Thayer 18-6 in the third and fourth grade contest. The Pilots scored on their opening drive with a 30-yard run by Trey Holliday, but the Bobcats responded with three unanswered scores. Mountain Home’s record drops to 0-4.

The Pilots will be back on the road next weekend as they meet West Plains.
