MALVERN, Ark. (AP) _ A 31-year-old Arkansas woman has been sentenced to 10
years in prison for driving her SUV onto railroad tracks where it was struck by
a train, causing the death of her son and injuries to three other children.

Prosecuting attorney Teresa Howell told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Sara Rae Morris of Hot Springs pleaded no contest Tuesday to charges of manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a minor. Four years of her sentence were suspended.

Prosecutors say Morris tested positive for oxycodone, methamphetamine and other
drugs following the 2016 wreck in Hot Spring County.

Video from the Union Pacific train showed the SUV had stopped momentarily
before the railroad tracks and then accelerated onto the tracks as the train
neared.

None of the children were wearing seat belts, but Morris was.
