A Mountain Home man under house arrest in connection with an open case involving multiple felony drug and weapons-related charges is back in the Baxter County Detention Center, along with four others arrested at the same time.

According to the probable cause affidavits, 26-year-old Gary Lee Barker, described as a live-in guest at a residence along Newton Avenue, was arrested Tuesday morning, after Mountain Home police received a complaint of the odor of illegal drugs coming through the walls and ceiling of an apartment.

Officers arrived on the scene and made contact with 48-year-old Shilo Lunsford, who was standing at the front door of the residence calling her dogs. An odor of marijuana was reportedly emitting through the open door.

Lunsford was offered the opportunity to gather items and destroy them with no further action. She declined to cooperate and would not allow entry to the home without a search warrant.

Officers could see others moving inside the residence and advised Lunsford they could be removed and a search warrant obtained.

When officers entered the residence, Barker approached them wearing a large hunting knife and a smaller knife on his right side. The knives were removed, and Barker was placed in handcuffs.

Twenty-nine-year-old Andrew Johnston exited a bathroom and turned toward a hallway. When instructed to enter the living room, he responded with a profanity, adding he did not have to do what the officers said. He entered a bedroom momentarily and returned to the hallway with a loaded semi-automatic pistol in his right front pocket, with the handle exposed. He, too, was placed into cuffs.

A female in the back children’s bedroom was identified as 26-year-old Ashley Henson, with a male sleeping in the main bedroom identified as 54-year-old Vern Lunsford.

The Lunsfords are full-time residents at the duplex, while Johnston and Henson were visitors.

A search of the residence revealed drug paraphernalia in plain view on the kitchen counter and on Johnston’s person and in his vehicle.

A safe located in the children’s bedroom occupied by Barker contained drug paraphernalia, marijuana, methamphetamine and $1,000 in currency. Drug paraphernalia was also found throughout the bedroom.

The main bedroom used by the Lunsfords revealed substances field testing positive for methamphetamine, as well as drug paraphernalia.

Bond for Johnston was set at $15,000 for the combination of drugs and weapons charges.

Bonds for Barker, Shilo Lunsford and Vern Lunsford on felony drug charges were set at $10,000.

The four will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.

Bond for Henson on two misdemeanor drug offenses was set at $1,140. She will appear in Baxter County District Court.
