A pair of big plays by the Jacksonville offense turned out to be the difference as the Titans picked up a 22-15 win over Mountain Home.

It was the Bombers who struck first when Dawson Tabor hooked up with Junior Williams on an 18 yard touchdown pass on the game’s opening drive, putting Mountain Home ahead 7-0 for their first lead of the season.

But the Titans responded on their first drive of the game when Shavarris Curley hit Keywan Palmer with a 57 yard touchdown pass. The Titans holder ran the ball in for the 2-point conversion after the Bombers rush would have blocked the extra point to make it 8-7.

On their next possession, the Titans got a 4-yard touchdown run by Curley to go up 15-7.

Mountain Home would respond with their best drive of the season. It covered 80 yards in 17 plays and took 8:42 off the clock. Tabor capped it with a 4-yard run then Tabor hit James Swartz with the 2-point conversion pass to tie the game at 15.

But the Titans got another big play in the third quarter that proved to be the game winner. Isaac Johnson took a toss, got around the end on the right side and sprinted 80 yards for the score.

Jacksonville finished with 222 yards of total offense as they improve to 3-3 and 1-2 in the 6A East.

Mountain Home had 212 yards of offense as they fall to 0-6 and 0-3. The Bombers travel to Marion next Friday night.
