Izard County authorities have arrested and charged 32-year-old Kamala Crone with felony escape after she fled from a patrol car at a Horseshoe Bend residence.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers from the Izard County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported domestic disturbance Tuesday evening with Crone reported as the aggressor. A male at the residence did not want to press charges.

Early Wednesday morning just before 2:00, officers were dispatched back to the residence in response to a second domestic disturbance, with Crone again reported as the aggressor.

The deputies located Crone in a wooded area behind the residence and placed her in the back seat of a patrol unit as they completed taking the report.

When one of the deputies checked on Crone, she appeared to be sleeping. However, with the report completed, the officers discovered Crone was missing from the car, and a back window had been rolled down.

Crone was located shortly after 6:00 in a neighbor’s storm cellar.

Her bond on the felony escape charge was set at $10,000.
