The Mountain Home Pilots youth football teams came away with one win as they went to West Plains Saturday for three games.

Mountain Home’s third and fourth graders picked up their first win of the season with less than a minute left in the game. Trae Holliday carried the ball for a 50-yard run and crossed the goal line with 54 seconds on the clock to give the Pilots the 12-6 victory. Holliday also scored on a 20-yard run on the first possession of the game. Mountain Home improves to 1-4 on the season.

The Fifth Grade Pilots were not as fortunate as they fell to West Plains 13-6. West Plains scored on their first two possessions. Mountain Home cut into the margin as their first drive in the second half ended with a 25-yard touchdown run by Reif Murray. The Pilots were looking to make a last run for the end zone after West Plains turned the ball over on downs, but time ran out on the clock. Mountain Home drops to 3-2 on the year.

The day ended with the Sixth Grade Pilots losing to West Plains 33-6. Noah McKay scored Mountain Home’s lone touchdown in the first half. The Pilots’ record is now 2-2-1.

Mountain Home will return to Bomber Stadium next weekend to host Salem.
