NAEC sends 4 linemen to Georgia for hurricane assistance

North Arkansas Electric Cooperative has sent a few of its employees out-of-state to assist with possible disaster relief with Hurricane Michael approaching the southeastern United States. According to the cooperative’s Facebook page, four linemen were set to leave Tuesday for Georgia to help Flint Energies with expected power outages.

As of 1:00 Wednesday morning, Michael was listed as a Category 4 hurricane with winds estimated at 130 miles per hour and located approximately 180 miles southwest of Panama City Beach, Florida. The National Weather Service is estimating the hurricane to start approaching Georgia by 7:00 Wednesday evening.
