Cotter falls in district title match; Yellville-Summit tops Flippin for 3rd place

The Cotter High School volleyball team fell short of a district championship Thursday. The Lady Warriors lost in four sets to Midland in the title match of the 2A-North District Tournament at the Yellville-Summit Multi-Purpose Facility. Cotter will begin the Class 2A State Tournament Tuesday when they meet Marianna-Lee on the campus of Crowley’s Ridge Academy in Paragould.
The evening began with the third place match as Flippin fell to Yellville-Summit. The Lady Bobcats’ first state tournament opponent will be Crowley’s Ridge Academy, and the Lady Panthers face Ridgefield Christian.

Bergman missed a state tournament berth in the third place match of the 3A-North District Tournament at Atkins. The Lady Panthers lost in four sets after Clinton posted scores of 15-25, 25-17, 25-18 and 25-14.
