All full-time employees of the Cotter School District by Nov. 1st or those who have worked 30 contracted days for the 2018-2019 academic year are set to receive a one-time $500 bonus. The action came Monday evening during the Cotter School Board’s regular monthly meeting.

The board learned the district has been approved for five alternative methods of instruction or AMI days. Superintendent Vanesa Thomas-Jones advised the school board of the approval. AMI days are approved by the Arkansas Department of Education for use during inclement weather or school closings when work is required to be completed outside the classroom.

Thomas-Jones also told the board the total enrollment for the district stands at 747 students.

In board action, the resignations of Sheila Hunt as food service technician and S. Nicole Moore as special education paraprofessional were accepted. The board voted to offer an employment contract to Sarah Griffith for the position of special education paraprofessional for the remainder of the 2018-2019 school year.

The board also approved the 2018-2019 classified personnel salary schedule revision and the renewal of the business trip accidental death and dismemberment policy.
