A Clarkridge man who barged his way into his ex-wife’s home and caused a disturbance was in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday where he entered a not guilty plea to charges stemming from the early September incident.

The charges against 36-year-old Wesley Barger include residential burglary, third-degree battery and criminal mischief.

The victim reported Barger had come to her residence along State Highway 201 North in Clarkridge and pushed his way inside. She reported when the door was flung open, it narrowly missed a child standing next to it.

The victim said the door was opened with such force it crashed into the wall damaging the sheetrock.

Investigators were told the door was operated with a keyless entry system Barger had installed when the couple lived together, and the code had not been changed since that time, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Once inside, Barger confronted his ex-wife’s sister. He is reported to have grabbed the woman by the left hand injuring three of her fingers requiring medical attention.

When Barger was met with resistance from the two women, he fled the scene on a moped.

Barger was ordered to reappear in circuit court Oct. 25th.
