Foghat RecordsFoghat spinoff band Earl & the Agitators All Star Band will follow up their self-titled 2016 EP with a new full-length album called Shaken & Stirred, which will be released digitally this Friday, October 26, and on CD on November 2.

The group features founding Foghat drummer Roger Earl and longtime Foghat guitarist Bryan Bassett, as well as singer/guitarist Scott Holt, who played with blues legend Buddy Guy for many years.

“This band was born out of a passion for American music,” explains Earl. “Rock, Blues & Country. Scott Holt…channels this music with a joy and mastery of a seasoned pro. With his fireballing guitar and soulful vocals, we had a blast writing and recording!”

The 18-track collection features a mix of original tunes and covers, with 13 of the songs recorded in the studio and the other five captured live. Late Foghat bassist Craig McGregor contributed to six of the studio tracks.

Among the studio recordings are versions of three songs from Foghat’s 2016 album Under the Influence — “Upside of Lonely,” “Honey Do List” and “All Because of You” — as well as covers of Johnny Cash‘s “Guess Things Happen That Way” and “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” the Tommy Tucker classic “Hi Heel Sneakers” and Johnny Burnette‘s “Lonesome Train.”

The live tunes, which were recorded at Club Arcada in St. Charles, Illinois, last March, include renditions of The Rolling Stones‘ “Wild Horses,” Eddie Floyd‘s “Knock on Wood” and the famous Henry Mancini instrumental “Peter Gunn Theme.”

Augmenting the Earl & the Agitators lineup for the live tunes were current Foghat bassist Rodney O’Quinn, guitarist Tony Bullard and percussionist Mark Petrocelli.
