Jo Hale/RedfernsRod Stewart‘s been hobbling around in a cast — but continuing to perform live — since he broke his foot a few weeks ago, but now, it’s all caught up to him.

The singer was forced to cancel Wednesday night’s show in Boise, ID, after performances in St. Paul, Kansas City and Santa Barbara “caused additional swelling and stress to his foot fracture,” according to a note on his Facebook page.

In the post, Rod is quoted as saying, “I’m especially disappointed that I’m sidelined for the Boise show. I’d looked forward to this one since April and apologize to the fans for missing it. It’s time I listen to my doctor, and my foot, and stay off it.”

Ticket refunds will be available from the original point of purchase.  It’s not clear whether other shows will be canceled — Rod’s next scheduled performance is Friday in Billings, MT.

As he explained on Instagram, Rod fractured his foot while playing soccer with his two sons.  “I was going for the ball and encountered an insistent lump of concrete. What was it doing there?” he wrote.  He also included footage of himself onstage in Santa Barbara with a cast on his foot.
