Simmons is being recognized for his participation in a benefit event held this past September that commemorated the hundreds of employees and colleagues of Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners who died in the 9/11 terrorist attack. The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer joined other celebrities on the New York Stock Exchange’s trading floor and helped moved billions of dollars to aid a variety of charities, including the Los Angeles Police Memorial Foundation (LAPMF).

“I have great respect for our law enforcement, armed forces and first responders,” said Simmons. “They do jobs the rest of us would never do and when they’re in need, it’s the least I can do.”

The Heroes for Heroes Celebrity Poker Tournament & Casino Party will raise money for LAPMF, which supports families of L.A. police officers who have been injured or killed in the line of duty.

In addition to the poker tournament, the event will feature casino games, food, cocktails, music, raffles, live and silent auctions, and more. Among the many items and experiences that will be auctioned include a copy of Simmons’ massive Vault box-set collection.

Among the extravaganza’s sponsors is Gene’s new line of soft drinks, MonyBag Sodas. Other celebrities expected to attend the fundraiser include actors Dennis Quaid and Luke Wilson, and Los Angeles sports legends Jerry West and Tommy Lasorda.

Tickets can be purchased online at LAPMFHeroesforHeroes.Eventbrite.com. For more information, visit LAPMF.org.

Prior to the benefit, Simmons and KISS will set sail on their eight annual KISS Kruise, which begins this Wednesday and runs through November 5.
