ABC/Image Group LA Michael Ray is teaming up with the Nashville Humane Association to help the animals in his home state affected by Hurricane Michael. The Florida panhandle was hard-hit by the Atlantic storm last month.

You can drop off food, blankets, towels and other supplies at Nashville Humane’s headquarters on Oceala Drive through Friday, November 9 at 2 p.m. CT. That’s when Michael himself will stop by to dispatch a truck filled with supplies to the Sunshine State.

“Growing up in Florida and feeling what the aftermath of a hurricane is like, there are so many things going through your mind about what needs done and who needs help,” Michael says.

“There are often a lot of animals that get separated from their families,” he adds, “and end up last on the list of priorities, and since animals have always been important to me and my family, I felt like this donation drive was one way our community could help and support another community.”

The pet supply drive is an extension of Michael’s Wrigley Cares charity, which is named after the husky/shepherd mix he adopted while on tour in Chicago in the summer of 2017.

His latest single, “One That Got Away,” just broke into country’s top thirty.
