One of several men arrested in mid-May for allegedly selling narcotics from a Mountain Home apartment entered a guilty plea to the charges against him during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Twenty-three-year-old James Roberson, who lists an address in Lake City, a small town located in Craighead County, was sentenced to seven years probation on charges of possessing marijuana and paraphernalia used for ingesting the drug.

When officers of the Mountain Home Police Department and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the apartment located on South Main Street, they found a number of men sleeping throughout the residence.

Most of the people, including a father and son, gave addresses in northeast Arkansas.

Officers reported the “strong odor” of marijuana throughout the apartment. They also found containers of marijuana, a set of digital scales and smoking pipes.

A safe was located in an open closet in the living room. The safe contained two bags of marijuana and a handgun. In addition, officers seized almost $2,200 in cash found in the apartment.

The father and son arrested in the May raid on the apartment — 55-year-old Kevin Kyle Sayre and 29-year-old Justin Wade Sayer, both of Blytheville — were also in circuit court Thursday. They said they were both in the process of hiring an attorney and were ordered to reappear in court in January.
