Seven members of the Junior Auxiliary of Mountain Home attended the national organization’s annual area meeting in Memphis in mid-October in an effort to gain leadership and education training for service to children.

The 76-year-old national JA nonprofit based in Greenville, Mississippi encourages members of its 96 Chapters in eight states to render charitable service to children and families.

With the 2018-19 national theme of “Let Your Light Shine Through Love,” the Junior Auxiliary of Mountain Home is guided by the ideas represented by NAJA’s five-pointed crown symbol: youth, health, charity, service and leadership.

Jeanelle Busch, Co-Treasurer of JA of Mountain Home, says the area meeting is the perfect way to refuel and remind our members why we do what we do in our community.

JA of Mountain Home has 25 active members who dedicated a total of 756 community service hours to Baxter County in the 2017-18 service year.
