The request of an inmate in the state prison system to live at an address in Mountain Home when released on parole backfired on a number of people who were found at the home along with drugs and drug paraphernalia.

One of those arrested Oct. 23rd when officers went to inspect the residence as part of the approval process for the inmate’s parole plan was Joshua Dicks.

Less than two weeks after being arrested, Dicks entered a guilty plea to drug-related charges against him during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was sentenced to six years in prison.

According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, officers found methamphetamine, along with various controlled substances — including morphine sulfate and oxycodone — as well as articles of drug paraphernalia.

Dicks asked to address the court during the sentencing process. He said the illegal items belonged to him and another person arrested at the residence in October, Keturah Sanders-Dicks, was innocent.

Sanders-Dicks is an active parolee from an earlier conviction. She was identified in the probable cause affidavit as Dicks’ girlfriend, although she carries his last name indicating they could be husband and wife.
