Marion County’s election results were highlighted by two Republicans winning their Justice of the Peace races.
Tallon Vancurren easily won the JP District 3 seat after garnering 80 percent of the votes. Vancurren defeated Democrat Russell Stockdale who ended up with 20 percent.
The other Republican to win was Rick White in the JP District 4 race. White finished with 55 percent to beat Democrat Carl McBee with 45 percent.
There were four city races in Bull Shoals with two incumbents claiming victory.
Mayor David Nixon retains his seat with 58 percent of the votes. His challenger, James “Jamie” Rhodes, had 42 percent.
Dino Giannini was the other incumbent as he will remain in Ward 2, Position 2 of the Bull Shoals City Council. Giannini scored 62 percent of the votes over challenger Bruce Powell with 38 percent.
Joey Grede will be the new alderman for Ward 1, Position 2 after claiming 52 percent of the votes. Michael Williamson fell short with 48 percent.
Diana Lynn Nickles will have the Ward 2, Position 1 seat after winning with 52 percent of the total. Nickels defeated Richard Belt with 48 percent.
