Cotter, Norfork high school teams get swept in road games

Tuesday was a rough outing for Cotter’s high school basketball teams as they got swept at Jasper. The Warriors fell to the Pirates 65-53 in the boys’ game. Cotter also lost to Jasper in the girls’ contest 57-31.

Both of Norfork’s high school squads came out on the losing end at Valley Springs. The Lady Panthers fell to the Lady Tigers 57-48. Norfork later lost the boys’ game to Valley Springs 71-45.

Flippin’s boys were able to squeak out a victory at home over Viola. The Bobcats edged out the Longhorns 63-62.

Yellville-Summit’s girls suffered a tough loss on the road. The Lady Panthers fell to Clinton 46-11.

Mammoth Spring’s high school teams were swept by Izard County at Brockwell.
In the girls’ game, the Lady Bears lost to the Lady Cougars 41-37. Terra Godwin was Mammoth Spring’s top scorer with 13 points, and Stephine Henry chipped in 12. The Lady Bears drop to 3-1 on the season. The Lady Cougars improve to 4-2 as they got 19 points from Ashlynn Bratcher.
Mammoth Spring’s boys fell to Izard County 73-40. The Bears are now 1-4 on the year. The Cougars are now 6-0. Justus Cooper paced Izard County with 23 points and Coby Everett added 22 points.
Mammoth Spring won the junior girl’s game 32-19.

Bergman’s boys had a dominating night on the road. The Panthers beat up on Alpena 72-43.

Omaha ended up splitting a pair of high school games with Western Grove. The Lady Eagles toppled the Lady Warriors 53-43. Omaha did not fare as well in the boys’ contest as they lost to Western Grove 63-49.
