ABC/Image Group LA CMA Vocal Group of the Year nominees Old Dominion may be the biggest jet-setters in country music right now.

The five-man band is working in the U.K. until Saturday, which means they’re in for a whirlwind trip to get back in time to get ready for Wednesday’s CMA Awards.

“I think we land and then the next day we go into rehearsal, and then we do the show the following night,” lead singer Matthew Ramsey tells Rolling Stone.

OD will play their recent #1, “Hotel Key,” on the show.

“It’s pretty fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants,” Matthew adds. “You just get thrown on the stage and have to do your thing. You don’t even really get a soundcheck, so it’s difficult to do.”

You can watch for OD’s performance starting at 8 p.m. ET next Wednesday on ABC.

The reigning ACM Vocal Group of the Year recently released “Make It Sweet,” the first single from their forthcoming third album. You can check out a new Ryman Unplugged version of the song, recorded at the historic Nashville venue.

Matthew says OD is finished with the new record except for a few vocals, revealing it has to be turned in to their label by January 1. That puts it on track for a spring release.
