The Bob Davis Male Veterans Shelter in Mountain Home has received Partnership Grant Program funds to assist in its operating expenses. The local non-profit shelter was presented a check for $10,000 by First Security Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Friday at First Security’s northeast branch.

Baxter Insurance owner and operator Joanna Baxter-Farris serves as the secretary and treasurer on the shelter’s board, and she says the money is going toward building materials to get it put back together and up to code.

The building located at 429 East Ninth Street in Mountain Home was officially purchased Dec. 29th with the purpose of transforming it into the Bob Davis Veterans Shelter for men. The structure has also gone through its demolition, and Baxter-Farris says progress has been made since then.
