Friday’s basketball results include Norfork splitting with Western Grove

There was plenty of high school basketball Friday including mixed results for Norfork at Western Grove. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Warriors 62-24. Norfork’s boys did not fare as well as they fell to Western Grove 77-47.

Flippin’s boys had a rough outing in the New School Classic at Fayetteville. The Bobcats lost to Pea Ridge by a final of 57-35.

Bruno-Pyatt’s boys came out on the losing end at home. The Patriots fell to Izard County by a score of 72-53.

The Viola boys had a successful night on the road. The Longhorns went to St. Joe and beat the Wildcats 67-37.

Mammoth Spring’s boys suffered another road loss on Friday after Tuckerman posted the 60-41 decision. Alex Mero led the Bears with 14 points, and Cole Young added 11. Mammoth Spring will begin conference play on Monday when they host Ridgefield Christian.

Calico Rock’s high school teams were able two sweep Omaha. The boys’ game ended with the Pirates topping the Eagles 81-69. Calico Rock also took the girls’ contest over Omaha 52-45.

Lead Hill’s girls picked up a dominating victory for Homecoming. The Lady Tigers routed Mount Judea 76-8.

Valley Springs went on the road and won a pair of high school games at Kingston. The Tigers invoked the mercy rule in the boys’ game as they routed the Yellowjackets 84-43. Valley Springs also won the girls’ game over Kingston 58-31.

Mountain Home Christian Academy had mixed results with three games at home.
In the varsity boys’ game, the Eagles pounded Christian Ministry Academy 71-42. Mountain Home Christian was led by Cooper Long with 21 points, and Caleb Spray chipped in 17.
It was a different result for Mountain Home Christian’s varsity girls. The Lady Eagles fell to Eagle Heights from Harrison 46-21.
The evening began with a 14-and-under boys’ game, and Mountain Home Christian defeated Eagle Heights 65-12. Trenton Cox was the 14-and-under Eagles’ top scorer with 18 points, and Landon Jines finished with 14.
