High school basketball makes up much of the local Saturday schedule as several teams begin tournament play.
The Arvest Bank Tournament begins its run at Flippin.
Saturday’s boys’ games will be played in the new gym as St. Joe and Jasper tip off at 10 a.m. Lead Hill meets Kingston at 11:30, the host Bobcats face Bruno-Pyatt at 1:00, and Cotter takes on Norfork at 2:30.
The girls’ opening games will be held in the old gym. Lead Hill gets underway at 10:00 against Kingston, Cotter plays Deer at 11:30, and Yellville-Summit meets Jonesboro Westside at 1:00.
Other local schools will open play in the First Service Bank Tournament at Clinton. Action tips off at 11:00 with a doubleheader between Marshall and Harmony Grove-Haskell. Valley Springs’ boys face Vilonia at 1:40, the Valley Springs girls take on Quitman at 3:00, and Timbo’s boys play Quitman at 4:20.
