Arvest Bank Tournament quarterfinals postponed until Tuesday

Basketball makes up the local Monday schedule with teams in tournament play.

The Arvest Bank Tournament’s quarterfinal round was scheduled for Monday, but due to the weather, the games have been postponed until Tuesday.

Three area teams will be in Clinton as the First Service Bank Tournament continues. In girls’ action, Valley Springs tips off at 3:45 against Riverview, and Rural Special meets the host Yellowjackets at 8:45. Timbo’s boys will face Pottsville at 5:00.

Two of Mountain View’s boys’ teams will compete on the opening night of the Highland Classic against the host school. The Junior Yellowjackets will take the court at 7:30, and Mountain View’s high school squad will play the Junior Varsity Rebels at 8:30.

In other high school action, Mammoth Spring hosts Ridgefield Christian for its 1A-3 opener, and Omaha entertains Shiloh Christian for three girls’ games.

Mountain Home’s freshmen squads will be back in Searcy to play a pair of consolation games in the Cub Classic, and both teams will be matched up with Little Rock Christian. The girls’ game tips off at 4:00 followed by the boys’ contest at 5:00.

Elsewhere on the junior high level, Bergman is home against Western Grove.
