“Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!” Perry wrote in a message posted Tuesday on his social media sites.

Among those sending love and support to Joe was his band mate Steven Tyler, who tweeted a message Tuesday featuring a heart and two “praise” emojis, along with the phrase “MY BROTHER.”

According to a statement from Perry’s publicist, the 68-year-old musician “experienced shortness of breath and was treated backstage by paramedics who gave the guitarist oxygen and used a tracheal tube to clear his airway before taking him to a hospital.” The statement added that Perry was “alert and responsive” after the incident.

Perry had just finished performing the Aerosmith hit “Walk This Way” with Joel before his backstage collapse. Concert goers tell ABC Radio that Joe showed no noticeable signs of distress during his performance.

Perry previously collapsed onstage on July 10, 2016, during a show in Brooklyn, New York, with his side band, The Hollywood Vampires. It was believed then that he suffered cardiac arrest, from which he apparently made a full recovery.

Joe is scheduled to launch a series of 10 U.S. solo concerts on November 30 in Sioux City, Iowa. Perry’s backing band for the shows is slated to include his fellow Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford and Extreme singer Gary Cherone.
