Friday’s basketball results include Norfork splitting with Omaha

Friday’s high school basketball results included a split for Norfork as they hosted Omaha. The Lady Panthers defeated the Lady Eagles 66-23. Norfork’s boys did not fare as well as they fell to Omaha 65-45.

Yellville-Summit’s high school teams had mixed results at home against Bakersfield. The Panthers took the boys’ game over the Lions 63-41. It was a different result in the girls’ contest as Yellville-Summit lost to Bakersfield 47-31.

Friday was tough Homecoming night for Bruno-Pyatt’s boys. The Patriots fell to Timbo 73-41.

Viola had a good Homecoming as they swept a pair of high school games over Western Grove. The Longhorns edged out the Warriors 65-62 in the boys’ game. In the girls’ contest, Viola beat Western Grove 64-37.

Mammoth Spring had mixed results as they opened conference play at Maynard.
The boys’ game ended with the Bears squeaking by the Tigers 46-45. Jacob Golden led Mammoth Spring with 13 points, Alex Mero scored 11, and Devon Cray added ten. The Bears improve to 2-6 on the season and 1-0 in the 1A-3.
Mammoth Spring’s girls were not as fortunate as they fell to Maynard 68-64. The Lady Bears were led by Terra Godwin with 26 points, Stephine Henry had 17, and Lauren Mitchell chipped in 11. Mammoth Spring drops to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the league.
Both Bear teams will host Viola on Monday.

Izard County picked up a two-game sweep over St. Joe.
The Cougars posted the 63-28 decision over the Wildcats in the senior boys’ game. Isaac Jones was Izard County’s top scorer with ten points. The Cougars are 9-0 on the year and 4-0 in the 1A-2.
Izard County also won the junior girls’ game 36-11. The Junior Lady Cougars improve to 3-7 and 1-1.

Bergman’s senior teams were able to pick up a sweep at Kingston. The Panthers won the boys’ game over the Yellowjackets 69-56. Bergman also took the girls’ contest 58-34.
