Norfork girls to compete for Arvest Bank Tournament title

Basketball is included on the local Saturday schedule as the Arvest Bank Tournament comes to an end in Flippin. The consolation championship games will start the action as Lead Hill’s girls face Kingston at 10 a.m., and the boys’ game will pair the host Bobcats with Jasper at 11:30. The title games will follow starting with the girls’ contest at 1:00 between Norfork and Melbourne, and the boys’ game will be between Deer and Jonesboro Westside at 2:30.

Saturday also marks the final day of the Highland Classic, and Mountain Home’s freshmen girls will play the first game of the day as they meet Southside Batesville at 9:00. The last two games of the classic will match Salem’s high school teams with Batesville beginning with the girls at 5:45.

Mountain Home’s seventh grade teams will compete in a jamboree at Harrison. Both blue teams will take on Harrison Gold starting with the girls at 9:00. Mountain Home’s seventh grade teams will later play back-to-back games against Green Forest at 10:30. The Seventh Grade Lady Bombers will later face Berryville at 11:30, and the boys will play Harrison a half hour later.

Elsewhere, Melbourne’s seventh grade girls will take part in a jamboree at Pocahontas.
