Governor announces 2 appointments with local ties

Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson has announced nearly 40 appointments, with two having local ties.

Benny Magness of Gassville was reappointed to the state Board of Corrections. Magness serves as the chairman of the board. His term will expire Dec. 31st, 2025.

A local institution of higher education will have a new member to its Board of Trustees. Michael Watson of Ash Flat will succeed Darla York on the board for Ozarka College, with his term expiring June 30th 2025. Ozarka College is headquartered in Melbourne with additional campuses in Mammoth Spring, Mountain View and Ash Flat.
