Much too young to feel this damn COLD: Garth says Old Man Winter barely shows up on “Live at Notre Dame”

Mark TuckerWhen Garth Brooks recorded his upcoming concert special at Notre Dame in October, his uninvited special guest ended up being winter weather.

“How it felt going down? It felt cold,” he jokes. “But what I remember most is [the crowd] singing and how joyous their voices felt.”

But Garth says you’ll hardly be able to tell how bad the weather was when you watch the show.

“I saw the special for the first time and I’m amazed…” Garth says. “Other than a couple of shots where the rain kinda gets blown off the roof, it looks like it’s cold, but it doesn’t look like it’s bad or anything. The helicopter shots are amazing, and it’s neat.”

In fact, Garth admits it was even better than he expected.

“There’s what you think happened and what really went on,” he explains, “and what really went on was even better than what I thought happened, according to these frames.”

“And the band,” he continues, “I’m amazed how good the band sounds, being thirty degrees out there and all the instruments going out of tune. But they did a great job.”

Garth: Live at Notre Dame premieres Sunday, December 2 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
