A local family nurse practitioner is joining Gainesville Family Medicine. According to Ozarks Medical Center, Mountain Home native Trisha Vigna will be a part of the staff at the Ozark County clinic after serving as a nurse practitioner at Fairlamb Senior Health Clinic.

Vigna graduated from Mountain Home High School Career Academies and continued her studies at Arkansas State University where she completed her prerequisites. She later earned an Associate of Science in Nursing at North Arkansas College in Harrison.

Vigna spent four years at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock. She has also been a school nurse at Mountain Home Junior High and High School and a home health nurse at North Arkansas Home Care.

Vigna was a registered nurse at Baxter Regional Medical Center’s emergency room for nine years while she pursued her master’s degree. She joined Fairlamb Senior Health Clinic in 2016 and specialized in geriatric care. With her move to Gainesville, Vigna will focus more on pediatrics while continuing to provide services for women’s health and geriatrics.

Vigna and her husband, Franco, were married in September. They have five children, including an 8-month-old foster daughter.

Vigna will be introduced to the community Friday when Gainesville Family Medicine hosts a free barbecue tailgate party prior to the Gainesville High School boys’ basketball team hosting Bradleyville. The party will be held at the clinic’s location at 37 Medical Drive in Gainesville from 4:00 until 6:00, and the first 100 attendees will receive a Gainesville Bulldog rally towel.
