Storms knock out power to local residents

Saturday’s early morning storms has knocked out power to several local residences.

North Arkansas Electric Cooperative was reporting outages to 857 of its members at 6:30 Saturday morning. By 11:30, that number was reduced to 392.

Entergy Arkansas had reported 2,751 of its area customers were without power, but the count was down to 1,091. Baxter County has six Entergy customers without power, 118 are in Marion County, Izard and Newton Counties are each reporting one outage, Searcy County has 683 outages, 16 Stone County residents are without power, and Boone County has 266 outages.

White River Valley Electric Cooperative reported 1,793 of its members were without power at 6:30, but the count had dropped to 455 five hours later. Ozark County has ten outages, Taney County is reporting 126, and 319 of the cooperative’s Douglas County customers are without power.
