An overheated electrical circuit is believed to be the cause of a structure fire Thursday evening on Debra Ann Drive in Mountain Home. No one was at the residence during the fire.

The Mountain Home Fire Department responded to the blaze just before 6:00 and found heavy smoke coming from the residence owned by Anthony Wiard. Firefighters deployed a handline and quickly knocked down the fire.

The fire was located in the master bedroom and extended through the ceiling and into the attic. The residence had 30 percent fire damage and 100 percent smoke damage. The investigation will continue into the cause of the fire.

Ten Mountain Home firefighters were on the scene with two engines, a tanker and two support vehicles, and six firefighters were on stand-by. Mountain Home also received mutual aid from the Clarkridge and Midway fire departments. Crews were on the scene just over two hours.
