Norfork split with Izard County; Flippin split with Yellville-Summit

Norfork’s high school teams ended up splitting with Izard County at home.
The Lady Panthers ended up beating the Lady Cougars 73-45. Norfork improves to 22-4 on the season.
Norfork’s boys had a different result as they fell to Izard County 78-32. Coby Everett was the Cougars’ top scorer with 24 points, Caleb Faulkner had 20, and Justus Cooper added 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Izard County improves to 22-4 overall and 9-0 in the 1A-2.

Flippin picked up two high school victories at home over Yellville-Summit. The girls’ game ended with the Lady Bobcats topping the Lady Panthers 52-48. The evening ended with Flippin’s boys getting a 66-59 victory over Yellville-Summit.

The Bruno-Pyatt boys had rough outing on the road. The Patriots lost to Western Grove 74-47.

Tuesday was also a tough night for Gainesville’s boys. The Bulldogs suffered a 44-39 loss at Sparta.

The Viola High School teams had mixed results at Calico Rock. The Lady Longhorns defeated the Lady Pirates 44-23. Viola’s boys were not as fortunate as they were edged out by Calico Rock 68-65.

Salem had a split as they hosted Melbourne. The Greyhounds took the boys’ game over the Bearkatz 55-51. It was a different result in the girls’ contest as Salem fell to Melbourne 63-35.

Mammoth Spring split a pair of home conference games against Hillcrest.
The Bears squeaked by the Screamin’ Eagles 57-55 in the boys’ game. Jacob Golden and Devon Cray paced Mammoth Spring with 15 points each, and Alex Mero chipped in 13. The Bears improve to 14-9 on the season and 6-0 in the 1A-3.
Mammoth Spring did not fare as well in the girls’ game as they fell to Hillcrest 56-53. The Lady Bears were led by Stephine Henry with 25 points. Mammoth Spring drops to 10-10 on the year and 3-2 in the league.

St. Joe’s boys had a tough night at Omaha. The Wildcats lost to the Eagles 62-17.

Marshall ended up with split at home against Bergman. The Lady Bobcats edged out the Lady Panthers 51-49. The Marshall boys ended up falling to Bergman 77-27.

Mountain View’s boys had a dominating win at home. The Yellowjackets invoked the mercy rule as they routed Rose Bud 56-26.

Lead Hill had mixed results as they hosted Jasper. The Lady Tigers got past the Lady Pirates 40-37. The boys’ game did not go as well for Lead Hill as they lost to Jasper 67-34.

Valley Springs’ high school teams picked up a sweep at Huntsville. The Tigers won the boys’ game over the Eagles 67-51. Valley Springs also won the girls’ contest 48-42.

Mountain Home Christian Academy was able to win a pair of boys’ games at home over Branson.
In the 14-and-under boys’ game, the Eagles pounded the Warriors 71-36. Trenton Cox was Mountain Home Christian’s leading scorer with 19 points, and Landon Jines added 15.
Mountain Home Christian began the night with a 29-24 victory in the 12-and-under game. Gabe Spray led the 12-and-under Eagles with 11 points.
