Basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule.
The Izard County High School girls will compete in the quarterfinals of the George Kell Classic at Swifton. The Lady Cougars will meet Trumann at 5:00.
Elsewhere, Bruno-Pyatt’s senior boys and junior girls travel to Brockwell to face Izard County, Bakersfield hosts Lutie, the Gainesville girls entertain Dora, Mammoth Spring is home against Crowley’s Ridge Academy for three boys’ games, and Lead Hill makes the trip to Kingston.
Mountain Home will have three junior high squads in front of the home crowd as they welcome Annie Camp from Jonesboro. The eighth grade boys’ game tips off at 4:30 followed by both freshmen contests.
In other junior high basketball, Norfork hosts Bergman, Flippin entertains Yellville-Summit, Calico Rock heads to Mountain View, St. Joe’s girls travel to Jasper, and Valley Springs makes the trip to Clinton. On the junior varsity level, Melbourne is home against Cave City.
