High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home will be back at home for Sweetheart Royalty night. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will welcome Nettleton to the Hangar.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 15-9 on the season and 7-4 in the 5A-East after picking up a seven-point win at Marion on Tuesday, and they are currently tied for second in the league with Jonesboro. Nettleton is ranked No. 1 in Class 5A and third overall by the Arkansas Sports Media, and they improved to 22-1 and 11-0 after beating Paragould. The Lady Bombers fell to the Lady Raiders 56-39 on January 18th in Jonesboro.
The Mountain Home boys are 8-15 on the year and 3-8 in conference play as they come off a loss at Marion. Nettleton is 13-7 and 7-4 after beating Paragould earlier this week. The Bombers lost to the Raiders 64-50 nearly a month ago.
A benefit for The Call of Baxter County will be held during the boys’ game as fans are invited to “Pitch in for Kids.” During the first time out or at the end of the first quarter, whichever comes first, attendees will throw new pajamas and/or socks onto the court, and they will go to Baxter County’s foster children.
The girls’ game tips off at 6 p.m. followed by the boys’ contest. Both games can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 5A-East, Searcy travels to Jonesboro, Paragould hosts West Memphis, and Greene County Tech entertains Marion.
