A pair of dispatchers from the Baxter County 911 Operations Center received recognition for their work in aiding a citizen using the county’s enhanced 911 service. In a ceremony at the center, Kim Bowman and Jamie Hohn were given the Rave SmartSave Award created to honor 911 dispatchers for their dedication and excellence while responding to a citizen emergency.

Rave Mobile Safety’s Arkansas Director of Strategic Accounts J.P. French was on hand to present the awards to Bowman and Hohn, and he tells KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot News they were able to use a special feature on the Smart911 system to respond to a possible suicide attempt.

Arkansas was the first state to deploy the Smart911 system, and it is utilized by all 108 of the state’s primary 911 centers in addition to Rave Panic Button in all of Arkansas’s public schools. French adds the system’s chat feature can be utilized if necessary in other matters including domestic violence.
