Parker Stephenson Photographs, NYCTo commemorate Bob Dylan being named the recipient of the 2016 Nobel Prize in Literature this week, The Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery will install a photo of the lauded singer/songwriter in its “Celebrate” space this Monday. The black-and-white image of Dylan was snapped by photographer John Cohen in 1962, and is one of two pics of the folk-rock great that are part of the National Portrait Gallery’s collection.

An open house will be held at 11:30 a.m. ET on Monday at the museum for media members to view and take photographs of the portrait.

In announcing Dylan’s honor on Thursday, the Nobel Prize committee praised him “for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
