iStock/Thinkstock(RIO DE JANEIRO) — A member of Great Britain’s Olympic team in Rio de Janeiro was a victim of a theft on their way back to their lodgings, the British Olympic Association has confirmed.
“We can confirm there has been an incident of theft involving a Team GB athlete returning to their accommodation,” a spokesperson said Thursday morning. “All members of our delegation, including the individual concerned, are accounted for, and are safe and well.”
Confirmation of the theft follows a report in Britain’s The Guardian newspaper that such an incident occurred this week.
No other details were provided.
