Two of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ parks on Bull Shoals Lake are undergoing repairs. The Mountain Home Project Office announced River Run Park will be closed for the entire 2018 camping season, and the opening at Oakland Park is being delayed.

Previous flooding has damaged some infrastructure in River Run Park, and multiple projects must be completed to make it save for visitors. The projects include re-paving roads and upgrading the electrical facilities.

Oakland Park is undergoing similar improvements forcing its opening date to change from May 1st to May 18th. The Corps will keep the public aware of new delays as work continues to upgrade the electrical system.

The Corps is asking visitors to avoid going around the barricaded areas where they are working in both parks. For information on the status of other recreation areas on Bull Shoals or Norfork Lake, go online to swl.usace.army.mil, or call the Mountain Home Project Office at 870-425-2700.
