A routine traffic stop in Mountain Home has led to the arrest of a Marion County woman on multiple drug charges. Twenty-four-year-old Lorin Branstetter of Bull Shoals was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Monday evening.

The stop occurred at a trailer park because the driver, later identified as Branstetter, was not secured, and the driver’s license was not valid. The Mountain Home officer conducted a search of the vehicle and reportedly located a clear plastic case containing a package of multiple syringes, a pouch containing a glass pipe coated with white residue consistent with methamphetamine and another pouch containing a scale coated with a crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine in the back floorboard. The officer also found a cigarette pack with a clear plastic baggie containing an orange capsule, a blue oval-shaped pill and a light green rectangle-shaped pill in the front passenger side door pocket.

Branstetter said the plastic container and syringes belonged to her grandmother. She reportedly admitted the orange capsule and the blue and green pills were Xanax. Branstetter also said she did not have a prescription for the orange capsule. She claimed to have a prescription for the other two pills, but it wasn’t with her.

Branstetter was placed under arrest and denied having anything concealed on her person. She was transported to the Baxter County Detention Center where she allegedly admitted to having something else. Branstetter reportedly handed the officer a box containing 16 clear plastic baggies. One of the baggies contained a crystalline substance consistent with methamphetamine. Prior to being searched by the jailer, Branstetter reportedly removed a glass pipe coated with white residue. The crystalline substance weighed 3 grams and field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Branstetter faces one felony and one misdemeanor count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and furnishing prohibited articles. Her bond is set at $5,000.
