Byrd signs with College of the Ozarks

A local high school senior will be continuing his athletic career on the collegiate level. Mountain Home’s David Byrd signed a national letter of intent to join the cross country and track programs at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout.



Byrd says there were several reasons why he decided to become a Bobcat.

Byrd is just coming off a cross country season in which he ended up fifth in the Class 6A State Meet to help lead the Bombers to fourth place finish as a team. It was his third All-State selection in the sport.



Mountain Home head cross country coach Robert Blades says he spoke with College of the Ozarks head coach Clint Woods Tuesday about bringing Byrd into the program.
