A number of ordinances were tabled during the most recent Gassville City Council meeting in order to discuss future plans, four years in the making, for the City’s sewer system. Improvements are finally on the way, according to Gassville Mayor Jeff Braim, thanks, in part, to a grant from the Arkansas Natural Resources Commission in the amount of $848,000.

The grants total $1.085 million. Braim will continue to work with the Northwest Economic Development District, who is contacting other agencies that may provide additional assistance.
Ken Cotter of Consolidated Land Services in Mountain Home will be the engineer for the sewer project. Braim says the debt the City is responsible for will be minimal. Figuring the City’s cost is the reason most of the recent proposed ordinances were tabled.
Mayor Braim says he welcomes any questions about the project. He can be reached at 870-435-6439 or at 870-421-7723.
