Streeter Lecka/Getty Images(NEW YORK) – Although he did not win the Heisman, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson believes he is the best player in college football.

“I’m the best player in the country. That’s how I think. That’s how I feel. People have their own way of voting,” Watson said according to ESPN on Monday after a team practice.

These comments have the support of the Tigers’ head coach, Dabo Swinney, saying that he thinks “Deshaun is so good, people are numb to it”.

Not only did the junior finish second in Heisman voting behind Louisville’s quarterback Lamar Jackson, but he also was denied being a first-team Atlantic Coast Conference member as well.

One major difference between the two ACC quarterbacks is that Jackson’s team only has one game left, the Citrus Bowl against LSU, while Watson’s team has a chance to win the College Football Playoff as the second seed.

Clemson will play Ohio State at the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 31. The winner will play either Washington or Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship on Jan. 9.
